Performance Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate the ability to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including evidence of the ability to:

apply environmentally sustainable work practices on at least two occasions, including:

organising work activities to comply with environmentally sustainable practices

reviewing, identifying and recording areas for improvement

working with stakeholders and communicating recommended improvements

applying continuous improvement strategies

using evaluation and monitoring systems

processing written records and reports.

During the above, the candidate must:

locate and apply required documentation, policies and procedures and confirm that the work activity is compliant

implement the requirements, procedures and techniques required to apply environmentally sustainable work practices

works with others to undertake the application of environmentally sustainable work practices

communicate with others to receive and clarify work instructions.


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including knowledge of:

key policies, procedures and documentation required to apply environmentally sustainable work practices, including those related to:

work health and safety procedures

applicable environmental regulations

emergency procedures

organisation and site requirements and procedures

organisational structure, reporting channels and procedures

environmental and energy efficiency issues, systems and procedures

quality assurance systems

individuals and groups with a direct or indirect interest in the organisation’s conduct, actions, products and services, including:

customers

employees

government

investors

local community

suppliers

use of evaluation tools and technology, including:

examination of invoices from suppliers

examination of data

measurement tools

environmental and resource efficiency improvement plans and initiatives, including:

waste management

waste treatment

resource efficiency

energy efficiency

reducing emissions of greenhouse gases

reducing the use of non-renewable resources

ecological foot printing

green purchasing

product stewardship.
